How about this? One liter of fuel—about a quarter of a gallon—to propel a car for 100 kilometers, or 62 miles. The one-liter car’s fuel economy translates to almost 240 mpg.
The biggest news at the Frankfurt auto show was the Volkswagen L1 Concept , prototype that “is close to production” and “will be developed,” the company says.
Three ingredients were needed to make it happen: a supremely efficient powertrain, great aerodynamics, and lightweight engineering.
And the best part? The L1 looks refined and close to series production, it could be on the market as soon as 2013! Cheers!
Even the fuel compartment looks cool…
Spacecraft-like back lights, definitely designed for the future.
Video imaging instead of mirrors!! and you hope there’s no lag….
Possible the only downside? 2 seater with the passenger at the back (like a cockpit). But rumors is that the market release would be different for the sitting arrangement.
Now.. doesn’t this door reminds you of “Back to the Future” ??
Covers the back wheels… NICE!
